The body of an unidentified man was discovered in a sugar cane field in Tea Estate, Inanda – KZN today (Friday, 10/07/2026).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call for assistance at approximately 11:51 after community members reported the discovery.
Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched. On arrival, First Responders secured the scene before Paramedics examined the victim. The man, believed to be in his late twenties, showed no signs of life and was declared deceased.
An examination revealed blunt force trauma to the right side of the abdomen accompanied by abrasions, a gunshot wound to the rear of the left thigh with no apparent exit wound, an approximately seven (7) centimetre laceration to the forehead, and marks around the neck consistent with possible strangulation.
The circumstances surrounding his death are unknown.
