Drug arrest made by the police in Keimoes

Police in the ZF Mgcawu District have made another advancement towards the eradication of drugs when Keimoes police arrested a 34-year-old male suspect on Wednesday, 08 July 2026 at 13:30 and seized a significant quantity of drugs.

The Keimoes Crime Prevention Unit were conducted patrols when they spotted a suspicious silver grey VW Polo.

When the members attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to comply.

A chase ensued and the driver lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a fence.

As police pounced on the driver, he tried to discard two large bags out of the vehicle.

Police arrested him and searched the vehicle, finding dagga in the two bags with a street value of R100 000-00 as well as a substantial amount of cash in a brown leather bag.

The suspect was subsequently arrested for dealing in drugs and the vehicle was confiscated as it was reportedly used in a commission of a crime.

The ZF Mgcawu District Management applauded the members for their swift reaction and vigilance during the execution of the arrest and the removal of drugs from the streets.
