Arrests made by the Johannesburg Flying Squad members

On Friday, 24 July 2026 to Monday 27 July 2027, Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested five (05) suspects and recovered a vehicle used in the commission of crime.

On Saturday, 25 July 2026 at around 12:45, members were busy patrolling around Florida policing precinct at the corner of Ruth and 3rd Street. Members stopped and searched three males and recovered drugs from all the suspects.

On the same day at around 14:20, members were busy patrolling around Roodepoort policing precinct, stopped and searched a male at the corner of Handel Street in Roodepoort. Members recovered three bags of crystal meth and a measuring scale. The suspect was placed under arrest and detained at Roodepoort SAPS for further investigation.

In other policing matter on the 26 July 2026 at around 16:00, members were following up on information of a white Kia Pegas that was involved in a business robbery in Hammanskraal earlier that day. Members proceeded to N1 South highway near Botha Avenue in Irene and the vehicle was spotted and stopped. The vehicle was found with one occupant and searched, members recovered 60 cellphones, three cameras and seven watches. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of robbed property and the vehicle was booked at the pound for being used in the commission of crime and was detained at Lyttelton SAPS for further investigation.
