The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga has recorded significant successes following intelligence-driven operations conducted in the province on 15 June 2026.
In the first operation, members of the Pienaar Tactical Response Team (TRT), White River K9 Unit and Provincial Crime Intelligence arrested a 50-year-old foreign national on charges of dealing in drugs and contravention of immigration legislation at Kamagugu Township. A substantial quantity of drugs, cash, and drug-related paraphernalia were recovered.
In a separate operation, the Mpumalanga Provincial Detectives, supported by the Pienaar Tactical Response Team, successfully apprehended two suspects wanted in connection with extortion cases allegedly committed in the Pienaar policing area during March 2026.
