The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has intensified its fight against crime, resulting in the arrest of 816 suspects and the seizure of more than 306 kilograms of dagga during high-density operations conducted across the province.
The operations, executed in partnership with various law enforcement agencies and stakeholders from Monday, 15 June 2026, to Sunday, 21 June 2026, targeted priority crimes, illegal substances, wanted suspects, and other criminal activities threatening #communitysafety.
The suspects were arrested for a variety of offences, including murder, attempted murder, rape, assault, robbery-related crimes, drug dealing, possession of drugs, illegal dealing in liquor, possession of dangerous weapons, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and contraventions of the Immigration Act.
The successes achieved during the operations are as follows:

▶️ 59 Illegal dealing in liquor.
▶️ 03 Possession of illegal cigarettes.
▶️ 124 Possession of drugs.

▶️ 05 Murder.
▶️ 06 Attempted murder.
▶️ 11 Rape.
▶️ 01 Attempted rape.
▶️ 65 Assault GBH.
▶️ 48 Common assault.
▶️ 02 Business burglaries.
▶️ 05 Residential burglaries.
▶️ 01 Theft of a motor vehicle and motorcycle.
▶️ 21 Malicious damage to property.
▶️ 19 Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
▶️ 145 Illegal migrants.
▶️ 281 Other crimes.
In addition, detectives arrested nine wanted suspects linked to serious crimes, including house robbery, assault GBH, housebreaking and theft, and theft from business premises.
The operations also led to the confiscation and recovery of the following items:
▶️ 306.47 kg of dagga.
▶️ 40 dagga plants.
▶️ 1.06 grams of Crystal Meth (Tik).
▶️ 3.6 grams of heroin.
▶️ 9 grams of Nyaope/Whoonga.
▶️ 01 Firearm.
▶️ 02 Rounds of ammunition.
▶️ 20 Dangerous weapons.
▶️ 278.17 litres of alcoholic beverages.
▶️ R1 671.00 in cash.
▶️ 310 packets of tobacco products.
▶️ 02 Motor vehicles.
The arrested suspects have already started appearing before various magistrates’ courts across the province.
