The Free State Department of Health extends heartfelt appreciation to the Dietitians and to the Association for Dietetics in South Africa (ADSA) for upholding the highest standards of the profession, even in the most difficult and demanding times.
As we mark Dietitians Week 2026 | Themed “More Than Just a Job”, we affirm ADSA’s message: behind every successful patient journey, every student inspired, every community empowered, and every nutrition goal achieved, there is a dedicated team making a difference. Across our hospitals, clinics, and communities in the Free State, dietitians are integral to patient care-supporting recovery, preventing complications, managing chronic conditions, improving maternal and child health, and empowering patients and families with practical, evidence-based nutrition care.
From 1-5 June 2026, we joined ADSA in encouraging dietitians to lift each other up-share proud moments, celebrate teamwork, and recognise colleagues who have made a positive impact on your professional journey and on the lives of our patients. “To every dietitian serving the people of the Free State – thank you for showing every day that this is more than just a job-it is commitment, compassion, and excellence in patient care” said Mr. Monyatso Mahlatsi, Free State MEC for Health.
