A brother and sister were threatened with a firearm during a Theft of Motor Vehicle in progress at their home in Tugela – Kwazulu Natal on Saturday morning (18/04/2026).
Information provided telephonically to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) by the complainant indicated that her white 2017 model VW Polo Vivo with registration no. BC25FKZN was being stolen during the early hours of the morning from their home (location withheld).
Upon arriving home, the brother found another white VW Polo parked alongside his sister’s car. He entered the home and realized that his sibling was inside the home. Both hurried outside to find the car being stolen by armed suspects. One suspect encouraged his accomplice to shoot the siblings, who returned indoors fearing for their safety.
A criminal case has been registered at Newark SAPS in KZN via Cas No. 31/04/2026.
