An unidentified male was found murdered on the side of a road in Mhlasini – KZN at approximately 04:13 this morning (Thursday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene after receiving a call from a member of the public reporting that a man had been assaulted.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the victim lying on the roadside with his hands and legs bound with rope. He had sustained multiple injuries, including severe bruising to his head and legs, and was confirmed deceased on scene.
A neighbour informed Reaction Officers that voices were heard during the early hours of the morning, with individuals shouting for others to apprehend the man. It is believed that the victim was assaulted at a different location within Mhlasini before being dragged to where his body was discovered.
The motive for the murder has not been established.
