Members attached to Operation Lockdown III in the Western Cape received information about alleged drug dealing activity involving a member of a local gang grouping at premises in Drommedaris Street, Elsies River.
The team proceeded to the address and conducted surveillance of the premises where it became evident that there are activities as people were getting in and out at the mentioned address.
On Friday, 06 February 2026 at approximately 05:00, the members met with the operational team and proceeded to the identified address to conduct the tactical operation. Upon their arrival at the premises the suspect gave permission to search the premises and he declared that he had nothing illegal on the property.
The team proceeded to search the premises and the following were found during the search, 438 Boss mandrax tablets, two transparent bags of approximately 116 gram of tik and a cash amount of R1240. 00.
The suspect could not account for the illegal drugs in the room and was arrested for dealing in drugs. He was detained at Elsies River SAPS and will appear in Goodwood Magistrate’s Court once charged.
In an unrelated matter, on the same day, 06 February 2026 at 23:45, the members followed up on information of a premises in Cheesewood Street, Delft where drugs are being sold. Upon their arrival at the premises a search was conducted and 120 sachets of tik were found. The 25-year-old male occupant was arrested for the possession of drugs.
Whilst conducting further patrols the members received information about a house dealing in drugs at Lukwart Street Delft. They activated the intelligence received and upon arrival at the premises a search was conducted leading to the recovery of seven half mandrax tablets, 15 quarter mandrax tablets, 25 full mandrax tablets, and 71 sachets of tik. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Delft SAPS.
The arrested suspects are set to appear before the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 09 February 2026, to face their respective charges.
