POLOKWANE – Members of the Provincial Intervention Team, Organised Crime Unit, and Mopani Tracking Team intensified efforts against drug-related crimes, resulting in the arrest of a middle-aged male suspect in the Tzaneen CBD for possession of drugs.
On Friday, 16 January 2026, members conducted intelligence-driven operations focusing on drug-related crimes around Tzaneen.
During the operation, a suspicious male was spotted and closely monitored before being arrested in possession of 43 sachets of dagga, 22 sachets of crystal meth, and one box of Royal Express cigarettes. The seized items are estimated to have a street value of R3 190.00.
The suspect will appear before the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 January 2026, on charges of possession of drugs and illicit cigarettes.
