WESTERN CAPE – Members attached to Operation Shanela II arrested three suspects aged between 30 and 35 for dealing in drugs, possession of drugs, attack on police and dealing in liquor without license early this morning (Tuesday, 13 January 2026) at 07:45
The members received information about drugs being sold at a premises in Beulah Court, Ravensmead. They operationalised the information and approached the mentioned house upon which a search ensued. Their persistence paid off when they recovered a consignment of drugs including tik, mandrax tablets, cocaine, several liquor and beers and an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime.
As they were arrested and taken to the police vehicles the suspects incited the people in the court yard to throw stones at the police. No SAPS vehicle was damage or members injured.
Once charged the suspects are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges.
