A coordinated crime prevention and compliance operation was conducted in the Springfield Park business area along Inanda Road, aimed at addressing illegal business activities and enhancing safety and order within the precinct.
The operation was jointly executed by SAPS, Metro Police, Municipal officials and KZN VIP.
The focus of the operation was on illegal business stalls operating without valid permits, which pose safety, health, and compliance risks within the business district.
Affected business operators had previously been issued formal notices in November 2025, advising them to obtain the required permits and documentation. It was clearly communicated at the time that failure to comply would result in enforcement action.
●During the operation
Approximately 15 illegal stalls were identified that could not produce valid documentation.
●These structures were lawfully demolished in accordance with municipal bylaws.
●Goods were handed back to the respective storekeepers on site.
The operation was conducted in a controlled and professional manner, with all role players working together to ensure compliance while maintaining public order.
Authorities reaffirm that such operations are not aimed at victimising traders, but rather at ensuring lawful business practices, public safety, and fair economic activity within regulated business zones. Further crime prevention and compliance operations will continue in the area.
