For several weeks, a group of criminals operating in a silver Corsa bakkie had been terrorizing residents and properties in the Uitkyk / The Rest area.
Through ongoing intelligence gathering and collaboration with the Risk Operations Centre, Taysec Security successfully identified the vehicle and shared the information with partner networks to assist with monitoring and tracking efforts.
While monitoring the movement of the vehicle, Taysec also compiled case numbers linked to numerous victims and affected properties connected to this criminal group.
Earlier today, the suspect vehicle was spotted by Taysec in Rockysdrift. Immediate assistance was requested from Ghost, who quickly mobilized alongside our Riverside Protection Unit.
The vehicle was intercepted in Riverside, where the suspect was successfully apprehended. SAPS, who were only moments behind in traffic, immediately stopped to assist with the arrest and subsequent investigation.
Following questioning, the suspect revealed information regarding the whereabouts of some of the stolen property in Mataffin. Security teams, together with SAPS, deployed to the location and successfully recovered several stolen items that can now be returned to their rightful owners.
The suspect and vehicle were handed over to SAPS for further investigation. Efforts are already underway to locate and arrest the remaining two suspects.
