A suspect has been successfully apprehended by members of KZN VIP Security following reports of suspicious activity in the Cardinal Road area of Phoenix on Monday afternoon.
It is believed that the male drew the attention of KZN VIP members after displaying suspicious behaviour and attempting to flee as a KZN VIP patrol vehicle approached the area.
Members immediately responded and managed to successfully apprehend the suspect before he could escape.
During further investigation, the suspect was allegedly found in possession of several housebreaking implements, dangerous weapons, as well as copper piping and fittings.
It is suspected that the male may be linked to several other criminal incidents reported within the surrounding area. This, however, remains subject to further investigation by the relevant authorities.
SAPS were called to the scene and the suspect was subsequently handed over, arrested and detained for further investigation.
