On Sunday at approximately 11:55, the CERT Centurion crews responded to a medical emergency at a residential complex in Pierre van Ryneveld, Centurion.
Upon arrival, crews found a 75-year-old patient who had recently been discharged following treatment for congestive cardiac failure and was experiencing weakness and shortness of breath.
The patient was assessed, treated, and stabilised on scene before being transported to a nearby healthcare facility in a stable condition for further medical care.

Shortness of breath should never be ignored, particularly when it develops suddenly or is accompanied by chest discomfort, severe weakness, dizziness, confusion, or a change in the person’s level of consciousness.
If someone is struggling to breathe, keep them calm and comfortable, avoid unnecessary exertion, and seek medical assistance. If symptoms are severe, worsening, or the person is struggling to speak or remain conscious, activate emergency medical services immediately.
