A 47-year-old man allegedly set his mothers container home alight following an argument with his girlfriend in Oakford – KZN this evening (Tuesday, 11/08/2026).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre received a call for assistance from residents of Oakford Village at approximately 19:08.
On arrival, Reaction Officers met the 66-year-old Pensioner. She explained that her intoxicated son had argued with his girlfriend before setting the container dwelling alight and fleeing.
The home was completely engulfed in flames. Residents attempted to extinguish the blaze with water from a nearby JoJo tank but were unsuccessful.
No injuries were reported.
