A clothing line valued at approximately R2,700 (pictured) was stolen from a property in Temple Valley – KZN today (Tuesday, 04/08/2026).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 11:25 after the homeowner reported that a suspect wearing a green jacket and black pants had stolen the clothing line before fleeing into nearby dense vegetation.
On returning home, the resident discovered that her washing had been removed from the line and left on the ground. She further reported seeing the suspect fleeing towards the railway line with the stolen clothing line concealed in a packet.
A search conducted by the homeowner in the surrounding area led to the recovery of the property. It was established that the suspect had sold the item to a mechanic for R100. The homeowner reimbursed the purchaser and recovered the washing line.
The complainant did not wish to pursue a criminal case.
