Fernie police have arrested a 37-year-old male for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition following a successful tracing operation conducted in the early hours of Monday, 08 June 2026.
Further investigation revealed that the recovered firearm belonged to the victim who was recently robbed in the Fernie area.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon, facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Investigations into the robbery and related offences are ongoing.
