Ongoing crime prevention operations are currently underway through a joint partnership between KZN VIP Security, South African Police Service units from Newlands West, Phoenix, and Verulam.
These coordinated operations include targeted stop-and-search initiatives, with officers conducting random searches on suspicious individuals and persons of interest at various times throughout the day and night. The objective of these operations is to proactively combat and reduce criminal activity across identified high-risk areas.
Several local hotspots have been prioritised following a noted increase in armed robbery incidents. These include the vicinity of the Trade Centre intersection, Westham Secondary School along Lenham Drive, as well as surrounding areas within Phoenix, Newlands West, and Verulam.
KZN VIP teams have been strategically deployed across varying shifts to maximise operational effectiveness and visibility within these areas.
During the course of these operations, multiple suspects have been apprehended and found in possession of suspected stolen property, dangerous weapons, and illegal substances. All suspects have been handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing.
