The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mmametlhake is appealing to members of the public to assist in locating a missing person, Oratile Chaka (18), from Lehabane Section in Seabe Village.

According to information provided by the complainant, who is the father of the missing person, Oratile was last seen at home on 05 April 2026 at approximately 06:00. The complainant reportedly left for Hammanskraal earlier that morning, and upon his return, discovered that his daughter was no longer at home.

It is alleged that an aunt, who remained at the residence, informed the father that Oratile had left for Hammanskraal to fetch her siblings. Follow-up enquiries at the grandmother’s residence in Hammanskraal revealed that Oratile never arrived there.

The complainant managed to contact Oratile via cellphone, during which she indicated that she would return home. Since then, she has not returned, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Several WhatsApp messages sent to her phone have been viewed but not responded to.

A search conducted at her residence revealed that some of her clothing and a backpack were missing, further raising concern about her disappearance.

Members of the public who may have information that could assist in locating Oratile Chaka are urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Wesley Maloka, on 079 499 5506. Alternatively, information can be provided via the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or through the MySAPS App.

All information received will be treated with strict confidentiality, and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
