Vehicle Overturns Down Embankment: Inanda – KZN

Five (5) individuals were involved in a motor vehicle accident in Etafuleni, Inanda – KZN today (Saturday) after their vehicle left the roadway and overturned down a steep embankment.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a passerby reporting the accident. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and, on arrival, located a Suzuki Swift that had overturned at the base of a steep embankment estimated to be approximately 70 metres.

Three (3) individuals were ejected and were located at the base of the embankment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this stage. Two (2) passengers managed to make their way up to the roadway to seek assistance.

The occupants were visiting family in Inanda – KZN at the time of the accident. It is believed that the driver failed to negotiate a sharp bend, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Firefighters are currently (15:37) proceeding down the embankment to assist the injured parties.
