Last night, at about 9pm, Mi7 Control Room Operators received a message on a community group reporting that a man was seen attempting to break into the premises of a carwash in the Pietermaritzburg CBD.
While the premises did not belong to a Mi7 Armed Response client, teams in the area were quick to respond nonetheless. Mi7 teams found the front gate at the property damaged, with one of its pillars broken as if to gain access. The teams made their way in through the same damaged gate and conducted a thorough search of the property. They found one suspect hiding on the premises and he was subsequently apprehended.
The owner was contacted, and when they arrived, found that the suspect was a staff member. The matter was handed over to the police for further investigation.
