A joint police operation successfully recovered 18 cattle that were stolen from the Kingdom of Eswatini. The recovery took place on Thursday, 29 January 2026, at approximately 04:30 in Mayflower.
Police received information regarding cattle that had been stolen in Eswatini. Following the information, a joint operation involving members from the Gert Sibande District was conducted at a property in Donga, Mayflower.
Upon arrival at the location, police discovered 18 cattle bearing Swazi brand marks. Relevant role players, including members from Elukwatini Stock Theft Unit, Eswatini Stock Theft Unit, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), and Community Policing Forums (CPF), were summoned to the scene.
The cattle were found grazing in an open field without a shepherd near the said property. No suspects were arrested at the scene.
The cattle were taken to a SAPS holding facility, and on 30 January 2026, the livestock was officially handed over to the Eswatini Police. #StockTheft
