The police in Gauteng have arrested four males who are suspected of terrorising e-hailing drivers in Jeppestown and the surroundings. The suspects were arrested on Friday, 23 January 2026, in Betrams, Johannesburg, after they were found with four unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Police received information about the whereabouts of males who might be responsible for robbing and kidnapping e-hailing drivers in Jeppestown and surrounding areas. Police pounced on the suspects in a shack in Betrams. All four suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of four unlicensed firearms and ammunition in their possession.

The suspects will be profiled and firearms taken for ballistic examination to determine if they were used in the commission of crimes.
