A 38-year-old Mozambican national was stabbed while attempting to intervene in a fight between two women on Goat Road in Waterloo, KwaZulu-Natal.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 21:12 yesterday (Friday) evening. Upon arrival, Officers were informed that the victim had sustained two stab wounds to his back and an additional injury to his left hand.
According to the victim, two women who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol were involved in a physical altercation in the roadway. He attempted to separate them when one of the woman began accusing him of taking the other female’s side, alleging that he was in a relationship with her.
During the argument, the woman allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.
The injured man was privately transported to hospital by friends.
The suspect fled prior to the arrival of First Responders.
