KIMBERLEY – The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape is appealing for public assistance in tracing two men who may help with investigations into separate rape cases reported at Barkly West and Kagisho police stations.
In the Barkly West case, the victim was at a tavern in Mataleng on Monday, 9 September 2025, when she met a man known as “Skomoto” and his friend. After the tavern closed, the group parted ways. Later that night, at about 02:00, an unknown man allegedly broke into the victim’s shack in Haak ‘n Steek, assaulted, and raped her.
The suspect is believed to be a South African male, aged 40-45, dark brown complexion, slender build, about 1.7m tall, with a tattoo on his left arm. He was wearing a blue bush cap and speaks fluent Setswana.
In the Kagisho case, reported on Thursday, 6 November 2025, the victim was walking home in Phutanang when an unknown man threatened her with a knife and allegedly raped her in an abandoned house.
This suspect is an African male, aged 21-26, slender build, about 1.5m tall, with dark eyes and two facial scars. He speaks Setswana and Afrikaans and wore a brown V-neck jersey, jeans, and a black beanie.
