A man was shot during an armed house robbery in Ndwedwe – KZN today (Wednesday, 29/07/2026).
At approximately 00:05, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to reports of an armed robbery at a residence. On arrival, Reaction Officers established that multiple armed suspects had forcefully gained entry into the home by breaking down a door.
According to a victim, he was inside his room when the suspects confronted him and demanded cash and a cellphone. He informed Officers that he operates a cellphone business from home. The suspects stole seven (7) iPhones belonging to customers as well as R7000 in cash.
The victim attempted to flee the room. His uncle, a man in his early thirties, came to investigate the commotion when the suspects opened fire. He sustained one (1) gunshot wound to the back of his thigh before the suspects fled in an unknown direction.
The injured man was transported privately to a medical facility for treatment.
