THABA NCHU – The Selosesha Tactical Response Team (TRT) has successfully removed another illegal weapon from the streets following a proactive tactical operation in the Thaba Nchu CBD yesterday, 07 January 2026.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding an individual allegedly in possession of an illegal firearm, members of the Selosesha TRT launched an immediate follow-up operation.
The team spotted a male matching the informant’s description near a Supermarket on Main Street, and was tacticaly approached. During the search, officers discovered a Browning pistol concealed inside a red and black GTI side bag. When the suspect failed to produce a valid license or permit for the weapon, he was immediately placed under arrest.
The 32-year-old suspect allegedly from Ratau Location in Thaba Nchu, has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm. He is expected to appear in the Thaba Nchu Magistrate’s Court soon.
