DURBAN – On Sunday, 21 December 2025, police in Vryheid arrested two suspects aged 47 and 50-years-old for fraud and for being in possession of items suspected to be stolen
Information was received by dedicated police officers in Vryheid about wanted suspects in a vehicle traveling towards the Vryhied Central Business District. The suspects were sought for a case of fraud that was registered at Nottingham Road police Station. Police went on the lookout for the vehicle, and they later spotted it parked at a shopping centre with no occupants inside.
Police waited until the suspects came back to the vehicle, and they pounced on them. Upon searching the suspect’s vehicle, they found seventy seven (77) bankcards as well as two (2) speed point machines.
Initial investigations revealed that besides being wanted by detectives in Nottingham Road SAPS, the suspects are also sought in other policing precincts.
The arrested suspects were charged for being in possession of property suspected to be stolen and will make their first court appearance on Monday, 22 December 2025, at the Vryheid Magistrates Court.
