Police members committed to remove firearms which are illegally in the hands of criminals who use it to commit serious and violent crime, yielded success on Tuesday, 02 December 2025.
Members of the #AntiGangUnit searched a premises in Wendy Street, Manenberg, and found a CZ 75 pistol with 20 rounds of ammunition in the house. They arrested a 29-year-old suspect who face a charge of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Further investigation revealed that the suspect is also wanted on a murder case which occurred in November 2025 in Manenberg.
Once charged, the suspect will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on the mentioned charges.
