WESTERN CAPE – Members of Maitland Flying Squad received information on Thursday afternoon, 2025-10-16, that a clothing retailer in Khayamandi was robbed of cellular telephones, on Thursday, 16 October 2025. The members followed up further information and the suspects were arrested at 17:30 on the same day in Kruskal Avenue, Bellville.
The members confiscated altogether 51 cellular telephones that were robbed at the store in Khayamandi as well as a different shop in Bellville. The combined estimated value of these devices are R 500 000-00.
Three suspects aged between 30 and 40 were arrested and detained at Bellville SAPS on a case of possession of stolen property. They are due to appear in the Bellville Magistrates court once they are charged.
