POTCHEFSTROOM – The police in Rustenburg request the community’s assistance in locating a 55-year-old man, Tankiso Mashesha, who is residing at Waterberry, Protea Park, in Rustenburg. He was last seen by his daughter on Friday afternoon, 25 July 2025, at about 17:00, when she greeted him at Rustenburg taxi rank as he was travelling to Lesotho for a funeral.
During the same day at about 22:10, Tankiso confirmed to his daughter that he was in a taxi and provided the registration number of the taxi and the driver’s cell phone number to his daughter. According to the taxi driver, Tankiso was delivered at the Maseru border post, however according to investigations done, he never crossed the border into Lesotho.
Later, Tankiso’s relatives in Lesotho were contacted, who confirmed that he never arrived home in Lesotho. Extensive investigations were done and all leads were followed up without positive results. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a brown jacket, and black boots. He is fair in complexion, a tall, slim body, a bold head, and wears a very short beard and moustache.
