Thembalethu police launched a manhunt for a gunman who shot and killed a man and wounded another in Zone 07, Thembalethu, George on Saturday, 30 August 2025 at about 22:30.
Preliminary reports suggest that an armed man arrived at the premises and opened fire at the occupants. A 53-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the head and was declared deceased by paramedics on scene.
A 55-year-old man sustained injuries to his head and body. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The motive for the killing is yet to be established and forms part of ongoing police investigation.
