Police in Mayflower have launched a murder investigation following a tragic double homicide that occurred on the evening of 24 August 2025 at a local tavern in Mayflower.
According to preliminary information, police responded to a report of a shooting at the tavern. Upon arrival, officers discovered a black Ford Ranger parked near the premises. Inside the vehicle, a male victim was found with gunshot wounds to the head. Approximately 20 metres away, a second male victim was found lying on the ground, having sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest.
It is alleged that the two victims, who were brothers, were seated in the vehicle when an unknown suspect believed to be wearing either a black or brown coat approached and opened fire without saying a word. The suspect fled the scene on foot following the shooting.
A number of empty cartridges and one bullet fragment were recovered at the scene. At this stage, the motive for the attack remains unknown.
Police are appealing to members of the public for any information that could assist in identifying and locating the suspect.
