UPINGTON – The vigilance and swift response by members of Upington SAPS resulted in the apprehension of a burglary suspect in the early morning hours of Monday, 21 July 2025.
The members noticed something suspicious while conducting patrols in the Middelpos residential area and went to investigate.
Upon approaching the residence, an unknown man fled on foot and was pursued by police members.
The local police members were joined by their colleagues of the Upington Highway Patrol who assisted in the apprehension and arrest of the suspect.
The unaware owners of the residence were sleeping and were informed by the police about the burglary.
The stolen items amounting to R5000.00 were handed back to the owner.
The 35-year-old male suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
