Five suspects arrested for house robbery and possession of a stolen firearm

GAUTENG – The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Muldersdrift, together with Guardmax security and Muldersdrift sector 1 neighbourhood watch, apprehended five suspects in connection with a house robbery case at Rietfontein, Muldersdrift on 18 September 2025.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 28, face charges of house robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition, possession of stolen property, and possession of housebreaking implements.

The operation began when Guardmax security responded to a complaint and engaged the suspects in a shootout. One suspect was arrested at the scene, while the others were apprehended at various locations in Braamfischer and Dobsonville.

Items recovered include a stolen firearm and ammunition, 28 cellphones, a laptop, speakers, and an amplifier, as well as housebreaking tools. Two suspects remain at large, and investigations are ongoing.
