The Illicit Mining Unit conducted a successful operation on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, at Jumpers Informal Settlement in Cleveland area, resulting in the arrest of nine suspects aged between 18 and 45, for illegal mining and contravention of the Immigration Act.
Various equipment was seized during the operation, including phendukas, generators, steel balls, spades, oxygen bottles, steel pots, crush machines, and stampers. This operation demonstrates the commitment to combating #IllegalMining activities and ensuring the safety and security of the community.
