COUNTERFEIT, CONTRABAND & ILLICIT/NON-COMPLIANT GOODS OPERATION 🚨
Durban Metro Police Service, together with national, provincial, and municipal enforcement partners, carried out a successful operation targeting counterfeit, contraband, and non-compliant goods in Pietermaritzburg.
Intelligence gathered during enforcement actions yesterday in Springfield, Durban, revealed that a warehouse in Pietermaritzburg was supplying large volumes of illicit goods into Durban. To dismantle this critical supply link, the operation was extended to Pietermaritzburg.
Multi-agency deployment including Metro Police, SAPS, SARS, NRCS, and local law enforcement.
Seizures included agricultural remedies, meat products, electronics, chemical disinfectants, automotive parts, safety footwear, PPE, plastics, timber, toilet rolls, and air fresheners.
Goods worth hundreds of millions of rands were confiscated.
This operation disrupted a major supply chain of illicit goods, safeguarding Durban’s economy, protecting consumers, and reinforcing that no illegal network is beyond the reach of law enforcement.
A big thank you to all agencies and members who worked together to make this operation a success.
