A man was left critically injured yesterday morning when a motorbike and truck collided head-on on the Outeniqua Pass outside of George in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 11h00 to find the truck lying on its side in the road while the motorbike was found a short distance. The driver was found lying next to his motorbike.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained serious injuries to his one leg, leaving him in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Mediclinic George for urgent treatment.
The driver of the truck was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
